Ταύτην Ἡσίοδος ἐν Θεογονίᾳ εἴρηκε θυγατέρα Διὸς καὶ Θέμιδος, καλεῖσθαι δὲ αὐτὴν Δίκην· λέγει δὲ καὶ Ἄρατος παρὰ τούτου λαβὼν τὴν ἱστορίαν ὡς οὖσα πρότερον ἀθάνατος καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς σὺν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις ἦν καὶ ὅτι Δίκην αὐτὴν ἐκάλουν· μεταστάντων δὲ αὐτῶν καὶ μηκέτι τὸ δίκαιον συντηρούντων, οὐκέτι σὺν αὐτοῖς ἦν, ἀλλ’ εἰς τὰ ὄρη ὑπεχώρει· εἶτα στάσεων καὶ πολέμων αὐτοῖς ὄντων [διὰ] τὴν παντελῆ αὐτῶν ἀδικίαν ἀπομισήσασαν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἀνελθεῖν. Λέγονται δὲ καὶ ἕτεροι λόγοι περὶ αὐτῆς πλεῖστοι· οἱ μὲν γὰρ αὐτήν φασιν εἶναι Δήμητρα διὰ τὸ ἔχειν στάχυν, οἱ δὲ Ἴσιν, οἱ δὲ Ἀταργάτιν, οἱ δὲ Τύχην, διὸ καὶ ἀκέφαλον αὐτὴν σχηματίζουσιν.

Ἔχει δὲ ἀστέρας ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς α′ ἀμαυρόν, ἐφ’ ἑκατέρῳ ὤμῳ α′, ἐν πτέρυγι ἑκατέρᾳ β′, ὁ δ’ ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ πτέρυγι μεταξὺ τοῦ τε ὤμου καὶ τοῦ ἄκρου τῆς πτέρυγος Προτρυγητὴρ καλεῖται, ἐπ’ ἀγκῶνος ἑκατέρου α′, ἐπὶ χειρὸς ἄκρας ἑκατέρας α′, ὁ δ’ ἐπὶ τῆς εὐωνύμου λαμπρὸς καλεῖται Στάχυς, ἐπὶ τῆς πέζης τοῦ χιτῶνος ἀμαυροὺς ς′, *** ἀμαυρὸν α′, ἐφ’ ἑκατέρου ποδὸς α′· οἱ πάντες κ′(ιθ′の誤り).

おとめ座 (ギリシャ語直訳版)

　ヘシオドスは『神統記』の中で彼女をゼウスとテミスの娘と呼んだ。そして、これは裁きと呼ばれた。アラトスはまた、彼女は以前から不死であり、人々とともに地上にいて、人々はこれを裁き(デケ)と呼んでいたと云う。 しかし、人々に、正義を維持することがなくなった時に、山に移住した。また、人々が不当な行為と戦争を行っていることで、彼女は空に昇ったと云う。

　そして、彼女の頭には暗い星が１個あり、それぞれの肩に1個、それぞれの翼に2個、右翼の端の星はプロトリギター(ぶどうの収獲者)と呼ばれます。片方の肘に1個。手の先に1個、左側の明るい星はスタキス(スピカ)と呼ばれ、ローブの裾に暗い星が6個、両足に1個づつ。合計で19個です。

Hésiode a dit dans la Théogonie , que cette Vierge était fille de Jupiter et de Thémis, et qu'elle s'appelait Dicé, Justice.

Aratus a répété cette histoire d’après Hésiode, en disant que d'abord elle fut immortelle, et qu'elle habitait sur la terre avec les hommes qui l'appelaient Dicé. Mais que lorsqu'ils changèrent de mœurs, et qu'ils n’observèrent plus la justice, elle ne demeura plus avec eux, mais se retira dans les montagnes ; qu'ensuite des séditions et des guerres s’étant allumées entr'eux, par l'effet de leur iniquité générale, elle les abandonna pour se fixer dans le ciel.

On dit d'elle beaucoup d'autres choses encore les uns , qu'elle est Cérès , à cause de l’épi qu'elle tient;les autres, qu'elle est Isis; d'autres, Atargatis; d'autres ,la Fortune , parce qu'ils la présentent sans tête.

Mais elle a sur la tête une étoile obscure, une à chaque épaule, deux à chaque aile, celle de l’extrémité de l'aile droite est nommée la Vendangeuse, une à chaque coude, et une au bout de chaque main. Mais la brillante qui est à la main gauche est nommée l'Epi, six au bord inférieur de sa robes, une a chaque pied; en tout,19.

The Virgin

Hesiode said in the Theogonie, that this Virgin is girl of Jupiter and of Themis, and that she was named Dice, Justice.

Aratus repeated this history according to Hesiode,in saying that first she was immortal, and that she lived on the earth with the men who called him Dice. But that when they changed of moralses, and that they didn't observe the justice anymore, she didn't stay anymore with them, but retired in the mountains; that then some riots and some wars being lighted between them, by the effect of their general iniquity, she abandoned them in order to fix in the sky.

One said a lot of other things of her again the one, that she is Ceres, because of the ear that she holds; the other, that she is Isis; of other, Atargatis; of other, the Fortune, because they present it without head.

But she has a dark star on the head, one to every shoulder, two to every wing, the one of the extremity of the right wing is named there Vendangeus, one to every elbow, and one to the tip of every hand. But the brilliant who is to the left hand is named the Ear, six to the infehor edge of its dresses, one to every foot; in all, 19.
