Eclipse Software EmapWin (Version 3.81)

Emapwin Overview

Emapwin simulate the solar eclipse from 13000BC to 16999AD.

(The above figure is Japanese version)

The Emapwin Eclipse simulation software has the following main features.

1) Display of the Eclipse Map
The Emapwin calculates and draws the eclipse lines on the map.
2) Display of the table of the Central line
The Emapwin makes a table indicates the northern, central and southern
limit of the umbra by the parameter of the longitude. So it is easy to
draw the line on the map.
3) Display of the Local Circumstance
The Emapwin calculate the local circumstance such as maximum magnitude,
time , altitude of the sun and direction at the given place. The Emapwin
also simulate and display the eclipse at the given place.
4) Display of the Sky at Max. Magnitude
The Emapwin display the Sky view at maximum magnitude if that point is in
the area of the total eclipse.
5) Moon Limb correction for 2nd/3rd contact time
The Emapwin calculates moon limb adjustment base on LRO/NASA satellite data.

The improved point of Version 3.80 from the Version 3.81

1) Consideration of the position of the center of gravity of the moon
A correction of the ecliptic longitude of the center of gravity
of the moon(-0.5") has been added to the Bessel elements.
(Contact time, etc. will change by about 0.5 seconds.)

2) The ĢT adjustment range has been changed from 10,000 sec. to 100,000 sec.
It is now possible to set Delta T to 0 seconds during Ancient Eclipses.

The Emapwin calculates based on the Bessel elements attached with the
software. The Bessel elements are for the eclipses from 13000BC to 16999AD.
